MIRO Bank has opened on Monday, 15.03.2004, a new branch in Iasi. Mrs. Jeanine Kreuz – the representative of German Embassy in Bucharest, Mr. Hans Joerg Krohn – the representative of Commerzbank in Romania, Mr. Axel Hummel – the President of MIRO Bank, Mr. Rotundu – the manager of BNR Iasi, representatives of other banks and local media have taken part in the opening. The MIRO Bank offers a complete package of banking products and services focused on developing the micro, small and middle enterprises, since it is convinced that this sector beholds the most of the jobs and contributes essentially to the economy development. The bank’s shareholders are the following renown institutions: BERD, IFC – the financial division of the World Bank, Commerzbank, DEG, IMI and FMO, which share common, strategic values and objectives. MIRO Bank is part of the ProCredit network – an international network of financial institutions, which support small businesses in Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa. The bank was founded in 2002 by the opening of its 6 branches in Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanţa, Timisoara, Craiova and its 2 agencies in Bucharest (Militari and Pantelimon). By opening the 7th branch in Iasi, MIRO Bank began providing services for the clients in Moldova.
